#1 Living your Life - Part 1

Once you are old enough to lead your lives consciously, you will reach a certain point in time where you will ask important questions like - "What is the purpose/goal of my life? What gives me the ultimate satisfaction? Why am I born on Earth? " Who can provide you these answers - Family? Friends? Internet? Books? Anyone else? NO ONE. No one can fix your problems. No one can pull you out of trouble. No one can heal your pains. No one can show your destiny. They can only act as catalysts in the whole proceedings but the only person that can do all of the above and none of the above is only YOU.

In the book "The Alchemist", the author asks us to follow our personal Legend and frequently quotes that "When you want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you achieve it."  That doesn't mean that you depend on universe to take a decision or wait for some miracle to happen. No sir, whether the universe helps you or not, you need to first help yourself in finding what you want. Separating our wants vs. needs is the first step. Everyone needs basic things like food, clothes, home, etc to survive. Once you spend enough time & money to satisfy your needs, then comes the interesting part - Want/Desire/Ambition/Dream/Destiny or GOAL. Without a goal, you lack clarity of thought. Without a goal, you can't make any decisions. Without a goal, you don't know where to start and where to go. Without a goal, you are not living your life. Without a goal, you are simply dead and useless because you will just follow the herd and die one day without creating any impact to the world.

Let's say that you have a goal in mind and you are determined/motivated enough to begin. But the next tricky part is do you have any current/future commitments, responsibilities, compromises, adjustments, etc? The degree of difficulty just grows in this order: Single=>Married (One spouse working) => Married (Both working) =>Married with Children and so on and so forth. And add other factors such as health, current job stress (too much work, boss, etc), family time, parents, etc. Wooh! The more the commitments & responsibilities, the lesser the chances of taking that first decision in reaching that goal. You can't quit your job or whatever you are doing overnight to work on your goal. It is not practical and doesn't make any sense and you will hurt yourself, your family on the way to pursue your goal. So, there is a cost associated with every move you make or every decision you take. Can you live your life without hurting anyone physically and mentally?
